First of all, we explain what acrylic nails
consist of.
It is the combination of a special liquid, called
an acrylic liquid, and a polymer powder. The mixture hardens quickly in air,
forming a very resistant false nail. The molding is done directly on the
natural nail, that’s why they are also called sculpted nails. In order to
lengthen the nail, molds are used to help the mixture settle. Once it has
hardened, the nails are filed down to give them a natural look. They are mainly
used to rebuild bitten nails and to make nails longer.

Gel nails, unlike acrylic nails, are made with an acrylic gel that dries under an LED lamp. The process can be done in two ways. You can apply a base on the nail to put a «tip» (a kind of mold that adheres to the nail) and apply the gel on top, or create the design directly on the natural nail. To do this, apply several layers of gel and dry each in the LED lamp. Layers will continue to be applied until the desired shape and thickness are achieved. Gel nails are slightly shorter in duration than acrylic nails, are more difficult to remove and not as strong.
